Some medicines are not available on the NHS, but are available privately (such as drugs for use abroad). Usually we are happy to provide private prescriptions to NHS patients free of charge.

Private patients will be issued any necessary prescription to take to a pharmacy of their choice. The cost of writing the prescription is included in the consultation fee.

Unfortunately private prescriptions cannot be sent electronically- they have to be printed on paper.

Private prescriptions for controlled drugs (such as morphine or methylphenidate) are not normally available.
